The villain 9
ARJUN || REDDY
I couldn’t believe my eyes. I rubbed my eyes then looked at the picture. Yes! It was her, simran! She was Shoukat’s eldest daughter. Anger rose in me. I punched on the table in anger. She became Anjali’s friend just to get in to our home. She was a part of her Dad’ s plans. She was a player, too. She was playing with my sister for her benefits. I won’t let her or her father win.
I went straight to Anjali’s room. Anjali was on the phone. Probably talkingbto Akash.
“Anju, how long you know simran?” I asked without any introduction.
“I know her as my classmate from the beginning of our college but she became Maya and I’s friend this year.” Anjali said after excusing herself from Akash on phone.
That was enough for me to decide.
I took my car key and drove off to Simran’s house. I stopped the car right next to her house. I saw some people coming from her home. I easily recognized her because she was wearing the same lehenga she wore for the engagement. Again I got shocked seeing shoukat Ali there with her. They both hugged and he kissed on her forehead. She smiled at him and waved her hand to shoukat Ali and a girl and a little boy. They were shoukat’s other kids.
I had a little hope in me that may be Simran wasn’t at fault as anjali said her father did abandon them. But I proved wrong. She lied to Anjali.
If he abondened them then why the hell is he here?
Now this show is getting hotter. I will end this father-daughter play soon . I gritted my teeth and my grip on the steering wheel tightened making my knuckles turn white. I waited for everyone to leave so I could warn simran from meeting anjali.
SIMRAN || SHEIKH
I told Hannah how Hamdan tried to confess his feelings and how I ruined it. She started laughing. I slapped on her arm.
“You should have let him say ‘I love you’.” Hannah suggested.
“Yeah.I did a mistake. Didn’t I?” I made a sad face.
“You also love him. Don’t you?” Hannah was so excited to hear it from me.
“Yeah..I lo…” I stopped when Hamdan entered the kitchen with the boys. I turned my back to him to hide my face which was red like a tomato.
I never felt this before.
“How long it will take, simi?” Hamdan stood beside me. When our shoulder rubbed to each other’s butterflies started dancing in my stomach.
“She is making this for us not for you.” Hannah said pushing him little aside and stood between us.
“Don’t dare to come in between us.” Hamdan dragged Hannah away from me and gripped on to my shoulder as if he would lose me in any minute. I looked at his eyes. It held so many emotions.
He never said ‘I love you’ to me but his actions always speeks what he felt for me.
I heard a clicking sound. Hannah had took a picture of us.
“You both are really cute together.” She stated. She did show us the picture. I blushed at it. Hamdan again winked at me.
“How did you do that Hamdan bhai?” Hisham asked innocently.
“Call him jiju.” Hannah teased us. I slapped on her head and mouthed her to shut up. Hamdan blushed.
He blushed! I never saw a boy blushing before.
“What,Hisham?” Hamdan asked not knowing what was Hisham talking about.
“That thing with your eye. I want to do it..please teach me.” Hisham made a puppy face. I and Hannah hi-fived and laughed at Hamdan.
“Oh..it…it was..um…something fell in my eyes.” He said pretending like something had fallen in his eyes.
“Okay…so our pancakes are ready.” I and Hannah took the plates to upstairs. Hamdan took the coffee.
I and Hannah put the pancakes and coffee on the table. I took my father’s black coffee and asked Hannah to gave it to him but she didn’t.
“You still remember his habits. I am sure you don’t hate him for what he did.” Hannah stated.
“I tried to hate him for what he did but couldn’t hate him.”
“Then why are you not talking to abbu?”
“Because I didn’t forgive him yet.” I put the coffee cup again in her hand and served some cupcakes in another plate for Abbu.
“Di,it wasn’t his fault. It was my ammi’s fault. Please forgive Abbu.” Hannah was literally pleading.
“How can I? He left my ammi in her last time. You know how much she needed him,how much we needed him?” Tears formed in my eyes. I saw hamdan walking to me. He gave me a side hug.
“Hannah, stop the discussion right now. I don’t like to see tears in her eyes.” Hamdan said to Hannah. She didn’t say anything but sigh.
“Abbu, your black coffee. Di made it.” She gave my father his coffee. He looked at me with teary eyed and sip the coffee. Naani also looked at me satisfied.
I can’t hold it back.
I ran to my room and silently cried. Suddenly I felt someone behind me. As I turn to the person he pulled me to him. I hugged hamdan and let out my cry. He caressed my hair.
“It’s okay, simi…I know uncle hurt your feelings but he doesn’t deserves this silence of yours. Look at him,he looked so old than before. At least try to be nice.” Hamdan said rubbing my back to sooth me.
“You are right. I was angry at him for all these years. I should talk to him and sort out everything.” I said pulling back from him still holding on to his shirt.
“That’s my girl.” He wiped my tears.
His girl! I felt good.
“Ahem..ahem..” Hannah cleared her throat from behind us.
“So,di. We are leaving.”
“So soon?”
“Ammi called. We lied to her that we are going to park. And you know that she would be mad at abbu if she know that we were here.”
“Hmm.. Give me a hug then.” I told her letting go off hamdan.
We went to the hall. I took Hisham in my hand. We all went downstairs to say good bye to them. Hannah got in to the car first. I made Hisham sit on the car. He kissed on my both cheeks. So did I. Samar and Hisham had a bro hug. Abbu hugged Samar then me. He kissed on my forehead. I smiled at him after so many years. His eyes got watered and he again hugged me and kissed. This time I hugged him back.
“Di,you are still in this cloth?” Samar asked.
“I was getting ready then Hamdan came…” Samar interrupted me.
“What? He came when you were changing?” Samar send death glares to Hamdan.
Possessive little brother.
“No,buddy. Remember I have a sister,too.”
“Yeah. But she is not your sister.” Samar pointed at me.
“Kiddo, don’t try to be her elder brother. By the way she couldn’t change because we were talking.” Hamdan said.
“What about?” Samar was behind Hamdan.
“Why would I tell you?” Hamdan walked to his home.
“I deserve to know. I am her brother.” Samar went behind him. I laughed at both Samar and Hamdan. Suddenly my eyes got someone who was leaning on to a car opposite the road. My smile faded away seeing him. He walked to me and and stopped only few inches away from me.
