“Oh God ! I am losing concentration in my studies! It’s the final year and you have to focus Naira. Focus Naira Focus.”
I have been writing practical for quite long. So I decided to rest.
“Tired huh? You have more to complete” says my best friend Kirti.
I don’t care what she said. So I close my eyes for a while.
“Naira, hi, my name is Kartik” I hear.
I wake up, to see a handsome figure, standing in front of me.
“May I borrow your practicals?” he asks.
“Of course when I had finished it.”
“Thank you ” and he goes.
Kirti is flirty as usual. She goes behind him. I never mind.

Wow! She is good hearted. She doesn’t show pride in spite of being an outstanding student. Well, I should catch up with her after sometime, but my nervousness had killed me when I spoke with her for the first time. Probably this is the first time she had seen me. Let God alone decide our fate.

I was anxious throughout the exam. I had already arranged for the surprise, but felt scared. What if she rejects me? That’s what was echoing in my brain. After the exam, I finally gathered up courage, and kneeled down in front of her.
“I LOVE YOU. I REALLY LOVE YOU. YOU MEAN THE WORLD TO ME. PLEASE ACCEPT ME”
She was tearing up. Did I hurt her?

“What if my parents don’t accept?” I ask him, out of courage.
“They will” he says. But I know they will not. They are very conservative and never considers a decision of my own.

Naira is dressed up in beautiful red lehenga, like a bride. Kartik looks at her, shocked.

Kartik: I will do anything. Tell me please.
Naira: Please apply sindoor on my forehead. Make me yours. That’s what I ask.
Kartik smiles.

And applies sindoor. Hugs her.
When he releases the hug, he realises Naira had done something.
Kartik: Is anything wrong?
Naira: I AM SORRY KARTIK! (Cries) I CAN’T RISK YOUR LIFE FOR ME. GOODBYE.
And falls down. She has consumed poison. He is in shock. He sees her lifeless. His Naira, Lifeless. He cries, he shouts. But it seems like no one is here to hear his cries or pain he is going through. All the people watch him idle.
