In a heartbreaking turn of events, Dinesh Phadnis, adored by audiences for his iconic role as Freddy, has reportedly succumbed to multiple organ failure at the age of 57. Contrary to initial reports suggesting a heart attack as the cause of his ventilation, emerging details indicate otherwise.
The actor is said to have taken his last breath at approximately 12:08 am, and his final rites are scheduled to take place at the Daulat Nagar crematorium today.
In a recent interview with Indian Express, Dayanand Shetty, renowned for portraying Senior Inspector Daya in CID, clarified, “Dinesh Phadnis is hospitalized and on a ventilator; doctors are observing him. He has not suffered a heart attack; it is a different treatment, and I wouldn’t like to comment on it.”
Beyond his on-screen presence, Dinesh Phadnis significantly contributed to the writing of numerous episodes for the popular show CID, where he dedicated his services from 1998 to 2018. In addition to CID, he graced the screen in Dangal TV’s CIF and made guest appearances on Adaalat and Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.
