Kanak reads book sitting in lawn. Maasi sees that and snatches book and yells that woman’s duty is to clean house and prepare food. Kanak says he does all that without telling, reading book is her hobby. Maasi throws book angrily. Uma comes and looking at book says she is reading women empowerment book, women have to follow just duty and cannot question. He tears book. Kanak tries to take back book and her dupatta catches fire. She shouts for help. Vansh dreams about it and wakes up worried. He calls Kanak’s landline. Uma picks it. Vansh asks to call Kanak. Uma says she is not around, he can tell what he wants to. Vansh says it is important. Kanak comes. Uma gives her phone. Vansh asks if she is fine. Kanak says she is fine and asks how did his shagun go. Vansh gets tensed and asks who told u. Kanak taunts her a bit and says Meena kaki told he was asking about shagun items and ask Vansh if he found a girl. Vansh says he found and girl and will see her reaction when she will meet her bhabhi. Kanak says she and Uma will dance during his wedding. Uma says she can talk later as she has to establish gath pooja. Kanak disconnects call.
Sangeet dance practice starts at Saras’ friend’s wedding. Friends insist Saras to dance. Saras says she cannot dance without her dadusa/Uma’s permission. Vansh thinks he has to marry Saras in her friend’s wedding mantap itself before any issue arises. He sees truck coming and comes under it. Saras’ friend informs that Vansh met with an accident. She runs to Vansh and sees him in a pool of blood injured. Vansh says he is going now and says his dream is to marry her. She says he will not die.
Suman is busy studying for exam when Kanak walks in and asks how to establish gath pooja. She explains her everything. Kanak walks out silently taking Suman’s exam hall ticket. She sits in front of god’s photo and says she will act as not knowing ritual and prove that she is educated by books and not by sanskars, she will ask Suman to tell whole ritual and then reveal everyone that she is studying 10th standard and education has nothing to do with sanskars. She finishes establishing gath pooja wrongly and shows it to Maasi. Maasi yells she established it in wrong direction. She says Suman taught her this. Maasi calls Suman who says it is wrong direction and establishes it and then does pooja chanting shlokas. Kanak reveals that Suman is studying 10th standard and she knows all pooja and shloks, so education improves one’s mentality. Uma yells women should be just educated till 8th to calculate home expenses, not more than that. Kanak argues that if a boy is educated, he uplifts 1 family, but if a girl is educated, she uplifts 2 families. Maasi argues that she got educated and is using wrong ways to prove her words, she does not want anyone to be like her. Kanak confronts, but Uma shouts enough, his decision is final. Drama continues.
Precap: Uma punishes Suman for studying 10th standard and orders she cannot go out of house for 2 months. Suman confronts Kanak that she hates her now and does not trust her. Kanak over phone informs Bhabho whole story, Bhabho suggests her to think like Uma and change his thinking. Maasi hears that and thinks she will change Kanak’s thinking instead.

Ok, I understand opposites love stories but this man is plain abusive mentally. How can they show him to be the male lead . No matter how much he changes, how can they show a woman taking him back as nayi soch after what he is shown doing. What kind of grandmother is Bhabho who advises her granddaughter to stay in such a situation, get abused constantly, and try to change thinking. This is like from 70s . I have seen parents bring their daughters back from such abusive in laws even if they fixed the marriage themselves. Here it was a forced marriage, people are nuts, yet Bhabho advises to stay!!? That’s such a regressive thing the show is promoting. Like stay and take bad treatment till you think you might die if you don’t leave. Chi chi…shame on this channel. Kanak’s character is being made stupid by writers. Only watching for Vansh and the revenge against Uma.
I watch the show from a completely different perspective – I personally welcome the fact that the show highlights the negatives orthodox behaviour brings, it brings to the surface the kind of atrocities that people carry out in the name of religion…. Chauvinism & egoistic behaviour exists & through Uma’s character this is brought to light & we are able to see the ugly side of such behaviour & how it creates a regressive society… I believe through kanak & vansh’s characters tsmsp are portraying the stark contrast in mentality & have highlighted the positives of obtaining an education and importance of equality amongst men & women, sending a clear message of the value of education & how it broadens the mind and mentality without compromising on relationships.
I get that the main gripe is that Uma is coming across as a hero at times & that Kanak is being shown to be falling in love with him, but from what I can see from the show is that Kanak is no victim, she is not so blinded by love for Uma that she is succumbing to his beliefs & becoming an obedient wife – Kanak instead is being shown as courageous & bold enough to stand up to Uma.
I’m sure not everyone will share my view and they’ll be people that watch the show from a completely different angle from me, but Ive just shared my perspective whether you agree or not I hope you respect it in the same way as I respect your viewpoint.
I like this different way of thinking . I share it. I think Kanak still does not love Umma. She has sumpathies . She understood that Umma is a good man , but he is blinded by religion. He wants to help Umma. He accepts Umma as a great friend. She wants to help her friend. Umma is a fanatic in his understanding of religion. This makes it incomprehensible , negative , selfish. But not a man who does not want love. There is still no real love between them. This love, which makes people happy , meaningful to the other. Umma does not yet know that love is above all. And religion is love. Somewhere I’m sorry for Umma. The influence of Maasisa is very strong. She holds it firmly in her hands.
I wish Umma and Kanak could get out of this house and live together alone. Then the differences will be smooth .But hardly. Umma will not leave his sick mother , Shiv and sisters.
The series has a very deep, philosophical significance. The paths to love are different . One short , other long . Some asphalt , other thorny . Love is the greatest challenge for man. Everyone lives for her. Everyone wants to get to it . Because there is always love at the end of the path. KANUM will clean the thorny path together , hard , but it will end to the LOVE ! Kanak and Umma are positive heroes. Beautiful artists. In the DABH only one hero ( Sooraj ) has brought to his burdens the whole weight of love , for one profession , for one purpose. Here in the TSMSP the concept is different. Two fight for LOVE . Two seek LOVE BETWEEN THE THORNS , without purpose.

As I think,TSMSP want to show nobody gets an ideal life partner but if they respect relationships can bring some changes in their partners with the honest efforts.Nowadays we can see in our society so many divorce cases even though it is love marriage. This is not leading our society in the better way.understandings must be there in both.I had seen some serials in which main male lead (JK in Madhubala mostly) married forcibly since she didn’t have any option. If nobody questioned there then why here? I agree it’s there opinion. I respect it. Still we can see TSMP in another angle too.Hope I didn’t hurt anyone& also it was not my intention.sorry if so.I like this serial very much and also I love to watch main leads chemistry and their acting.
A big salute to the CVS for taking this most important grey area of our country.Women’s education which is a very important leads for women empowerment.Such a sensitive issue to to deal.CVS are doing perfect job of sending social message through entertainment media.I always see the progressive part of the serial .Extreme regressive scenes is shown that still there are still women’s are deprived of education .In our society women’s are not equally treated with men .Woman is restricted with boundaries.Kanak is going to be voice of such woman .Education only gives knowledge .It gives exposure to outer world. It helps person to differentiate what is right and what is wrong.Uma is a represntation of that part of society who are narrow minded who thinks woman as slaves .But in the case of uma I never blame him he was manipulated by massisa. He I’d educated but at the same time conservative. Kanak will win this mission and come out with flying colours .Vansh saras marriage have no idea how its going to affect kanUm relationship .But seriously vansh and uma is same ,uma does not respect woman as human being, vansh sees saras as uma ‘s sis not as human being .Both of them are playing with human emotions. That oil massage scene was so nice uma was so caring and Kanak is feeling his love. The way kanak proved that men and women are equal was superb.I didn’t see any obscenity in that sequence .It only proves that woman is also courageous as men.Woman’s are more stronger than men we use our brain to prove we are strong.
Friends i read in a spoiler that uma is going to become like sooraj soon.Kanak wants to pursue IAS dream uma after knowing about how sooraj supported and helped sandhya to achieve her dreams same way uma will be stepping step for kanak to fulfil her dreams.Thursday night TSMSP topped all the other shows in UK star plus graph increased becos of TSMSP
thats so awesome,i love the designer of this show too,i wonder who he is
It’s good what Kanak is fighting for women’s recognition in this house hold especially against Masisa as for Uma he was brain washed by all this rediculous dharm and help from Masisa She has a big hurdle to cross to get there I hope Kanak doesn’t follow Sandhya in perusing her career as IAS would like her to have a different career all together Divyaa good to hear it’s doing well in the UK As for Vansh he his doing exactly like Uma rushing into marriage just to take revenge
I agree I wouldn’t like the show to go down the IAS course either – I felt DABH had run its course with this track & towards the end it had started to get tiring. This show is unique & made a refreshing change. So glad to hear tsmsp is doing well in the U.K ?

Uma looks like an uncle
Yes ,100%, He is more elder han Kanak
kanak was born about 10 years after her twin bros. Misri was even elder to the boys. If Misri has married Aditya, Aditya should be at least 12-14 years elder to Kanak. Aditya being younger to Uma, Uma must easily be about 15 yrs elder to Kanak.
I too agree vishal
i have not seen the show till now but i have seen its promo that are just disgusting and this show is what we call in hindi a kalank on the name of diya aur bati this kind of thinking in 21st century god it really sucks
