TV actress Vaishali Thakkar ends her life, accuses ex-boyfriend of harassment
Television actress Vaishali Thakkar who made her debut on the small screen with ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ died by suicide in Indore on Sunday. The 30-year-old actress hanged herself at home leaving behind a note alleging that she was being harassed by her ex-boyfriend.
Tejaji Nagar police station in-charge RD Kanwa shared, “We have recovered a five-page note, written in a small diary, from her room. We are verifying its content. She has named a former boyfriend and said he was troubling her. She said he wasn’t marrying her, nor was he letting her marry anyone else. The former boyfriend is married with two kids.”
Meanwhile, one of her recent social media posts is being seen as an ominous indication of her suicide. Earlier Vaishali shared a reel on her social media account, showing a ceiling fan, with the comment: “What do you do on Sundays?”
According to the reports, Vaishali’s brother found her hanging in her room on Saturday night. They took her to a hospital but she was declared dead on arrival by doctors. Police sent her body for postmortem and she was cremated by her family on Sunday afternoon.
An iPhone, iPad, and other items have been seized from her house by the Police. So far no case has been registered against the ex-boyfriend.
According to the Police officer, Vaishali was tired of the TV industry and wanted to settle and have a family. The actress was engaged to a Kenya-based furniture businessman in 2021, but it was called off a month later.
Vaishali has been a part of shows like ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’, ‘Ye Vaada Raha’, ‘Ye Hai Ashiqui’, ‘Sasural Simar Ka’, ‘Super Sisters’, ‘Laal Ishq’, ‘Vish Ya Amrit, and ‘Manmohini 2’ among others.
