Bakhuda Tumhi Ho-
Episode:20
——————————-
Next Morning:
“Good morning Kunj. Get up and get ready and today you can wear anything you want. Okay!” Twinkle chirped while Kunj got up instantly in an excited mode.
Within half an hour both were ready and headed towards car. It was again Twinkle who was driving and Kunj without arguing let her drive after all he was really curious to know where his wife will take him today.
“Okay so where are we going today?” He asked feeling like he would burst with excitement.
“Patience my husband patience.” She answered smiling.
Twinkle drove outskirts of the city. “Are we going to the orphanage… I mean to the happy palace again?” He questioned smiling brightly.
“No Kunj we’re going somewhere else.” She retorted making him more impatient.
“Kunj I’ve never visited a farm you know. I love farm and the pet animals, so we’re going to… A farm.” He found it rather bizarre that she never visited farm but still he didn’t say anything. After long driving Kunj found the road and surrounding rather familiar and realized where it was heading. For him it was as bad as it could get! And then after some time of driving the car, she came out and opened Kunj’s side gate.
He was about to ask her what was going on in her mind but didn’t. A small house just as small as a barn was located in the middle of 4 little farms.
“Kunj, come let’s go inside.” She tried to pull him by hand but he didn’t budge. He was totally confused that who told her all this? Since when does she know? And when she knows everything, what was the point in scratching his wounds?
“Twinkle. You may go inside. I’ll wait for you here. And as far as I remember, weren’t you the one who used to say that we should forget our past. Right!” He spoke leaning against the door frame.
“And AS FAR AS I REMEMBER, I never asked you to FORGET your past. I asked you to ACCEPT it. Didn’t I? Kunj I know you don’t want to meet Nanaji. (Maternal grandfather. Mother’s father) but I really really want to meet Nanaji. I’ve never seen him but I know he must be really sweet so just for me… Please!” She gave him a pleading look but still no effect on him. “Ok. It’s Ok if you don’t want to talk to him, but at least accompany me. Just let me talk. I’ll meet and within an hour or two we’ll leave. Now is it fine?” She asked hopefully.
He sighed. For Kunj, it wouldn’t be awkward to keep quiet but to start conversation so he agreed unwillingly and then followed her inside. His Nanaji was arranging the photo frames. He was wiping Kunj’s photo with a clean cloth and placed it back on table. Twinkle cleared her throat to grab his attention and once after his Nanaji looked at Twinkle he gave confused look as he couldn’t recognize her but soon after seeing Kunj, he didn’t even blink his eyes maybe afraid that this was just a beautiful dream and would disappear once he blinked his eyes. After a minute, when he was sure that it was indeed him, he beamed with happiness and approached him. “Son.” He said looking at him happily.
Kunj was about to turn his face away when Twinkle gave him a ‘behave nicely’ glare on which he managed to say a ‘hi.’ awkwardly.
Nanaji smiled gleefully but then he moved his gaze to Twinkle. She noticed her confusion and sighed thinking she had to introduce her by herself because Kunj had already done a favor by coming inside and saying a ‘hi.’
“Hello uncle. I’m Twinkle… Twinkle Sarna, his wife.” She made her introduction making Nanaji little sad that nobody told him about his grandson’s wedding but he hid it behind his smile.
“Come inside.” He motioned with his hand. “And yes call me Nanaji not uncle Ok.”
She nodded with a wide smile. “Ok Nanaji. Can we visit the farm? I really want to see one and all the domestic animals.” She asked like a child and they both (Kunj and Nanaji) didn’t help but smile at her childishness.
“Sure. Come! We can chit chat later.”
They all moved towards the back door from where they started walking in the green farms. Mild winds were blowing and the green grass was dancing with the direction of those winds. Twinkle and Nanaji kept talking about anything and everything that came into their minds while Kunj was just quietly following them.
“So when did you two get married?” Nanaji asked.
“Oh! It’s just two months.” She answered smilingly.
“So…. You’re happy?”
“Of course. I’m very very very happy.” She said excitedly on which Kunj shook his head in amusement but inside he was feeling strange happiness and a joy of satisfaction.
Twinkle kept moving her hand in the Lush green grass like it was giving her some sort of pleasure. They walked too far from the house and after about 10 minutes, Twinkle spoke, “Nanaji! I think I’m not feeling well. Maybe I should go and take some rest.” Kunj shot a look at her. She was unbelievable! First she tricked him into coming here, then acted unhealthy to leave him alone with Nanaji! She ran from there before Kunj could even say anything.
‘Cheater!’ He screamed in his head.
Kunj and Nanaji looked at each other resuming their walk. “She’s such a nice girl.” Nanaji broke the silence between them.
Kunj nodded. “Ya! She’s amazing.”
Again silence fell on them. They didn’t know what to talk about. It was so awkward between them. “So you… You love her?” Nanaji finally asked after good 5 minutes quietness.
Kunj sighed. “Love or not I don’t know but yeah I… I can’t think about living my life without her. Since she came into my life… Everything changed! I’ve been doing things which I had never done for anybody. She changed me… And I changed myself for her! She’s very special to me. She… She’s my inspiration and…”
“And you don’t LOVE her?” Nanaji mocked emphasizing ‘Love’. “Well well well… Let’s not talk about that if you don’t want but son I’ve to tell you something. Maybe you don’t agree that you love her but still if she’s so special to you than never let her go.”
“Don’t worry. I won’t Nano!” He stopped as he realized what he said. He called him by ‘Nano’ same as he used to call him in childhood.
Kunj looked at his Nano who had tears of happiness in his eyes. “I knew you would accept me one day son. You don’t know how much I missed you all these years. I thought you’ll never come back but I guess I was wrong. Though I never approached you but I kept knowing about your whereabouts. I watched the news, read the newspaper to hear about you. Thank you Kunj for coming back.”
That’s when Kunj realized how many people he has hurt with his behavior. Nanaji suffered without any mistake all these years.
Kunj hugged him tightly. “I… I’m sorry Nano.” He said. Guilt evident in his voice.
Nanaji pat his back. “No son. Don’t apologise. Come… Let’s go back, Twinkle must be waiting for us and then we’ve to thank her for showing this day to us.”
They headed towards the hall and saw Twinkle lying there unconscious.
“Twinkle!” Kunj shouted at the top of his lungs. He felt like his life was slipping out of his body after seeing Twinkle in this state! He ran to her and placed her head on his lap.
“Wake up Twinkle! What happened to you?” He whispered in the same panicked state.
Meanwhile Nanaji returned with a glass of water. He sprinkled it on her face and Twinkle slowly opened her eyes. She blinked many times to remove the blurriness from her sight.
“Twinkle!” Kunj breathed before kissing her forehead. “Are you alright? No! I can see you aren’t…” He continued blabbering. “Let’s go to the hospital.”
Hearing this Twinkle panicked. “Kunj! Why hospital? I… I’m fine. It’s just… You know I haven’t eaten anything since morning so…” She trailed off getting up while Kunj helped her in standing.
“Why are you so careless Twinkle? Why don’t you take care of your health?” He almost yelled.
“I’m sorry Kunj. It’s just I didn’t have my breakfast na. That’s why. But it’s Ok we can have lunch now.”
“You both may sit while I check the lunch preparations.” With those words Nanaji stepped towards kitchen.
Kunj caressed her hair. “Please take care of yourself Ok. Don’t ever neglect your health.” His concern was reflecting through his eyes. She could sense with her eyes closed that how much worried he was for her.
***
The three had their lunch. The room was filled with giggles and laughs, they shared old memories. Both told Twinkle many of Kunj’s childhood stories about how they were together. After a long, happy time… It was night when Kunj and Twinkle decided to leave for home.
“Think about what I told you Kunj.” Nanaji whispered in Kunj’s ear when he hugged him.
Kunj nodded with a wide grin. After Twinkle took blessings from Nanaji, both moved out.
Kunj was satisfied now, he just couldn’t get into this love thing again. If once a person burn his hand, second time he become very careful because he can’t forget the pain of that burned and even if he do, the scar is always there to remind him. He had once been broken in love, how could he get this love rule him once again!
But after meeting Nanaji, he was happy and contented with the way he helped him in confronting his feelings.
While driving the car, Twinkle broke him out of his trance. “Kunj! I’ve to say something.”
Kunj stared at her for few seconds then raised his brows in question.
“Kunj today I brought you here to give you back one person you love. Because by doubting you, I had tried to take away myself from you. So this is my way of saying sorry. Now do you forgive me?”
He just nodded unable to utter a single word. His eyes weren’t moving from her face. He was eyeing her with pure love and adore. She was different, special and unique in everything she did. She made every moment with him worth it! He was really blessed to have her in his life.

Next Day:
Kunj before going office warned Twinkle to stay at home because her health wasn’t fine. Twinkle, though agreed at the moment but later on she decided to go hospital. She got ready and headed to her working place. She was feeling so nervous as she didn’t visit hospital after that ‘I love you’ incident.
‘They’ll fire me for sure.’ She thought getting sad.
After awhile she reached there and felt like she was going on war! ‘Brace yourself lady! Today is the do and die situation!’ She encouraged herself acting like she was a soldier.
She walked inside and to her surprise, not a single scolding or threat from her seniors. She was confused because many girls were throwing death glares to her.
She found Anna smiling ruefully at her. Twinkle took her and dragged her a-side panicking. “Anna what’s happening? Why is everyone behaving so wierd with me?” She asked cluelessly.
Anna gave her awed looks. “Didn’t jiju tell you?”
“Jij-… You mean Kunj? Oh Lord! What did he do now!” She exclaimed worriedly.
“Chill di.”
“No Anna please tell me!”
“Fine. Listen carefully Ok.” She said with a glint of mischievousness. “Jiju PURCHASED this hospital. I saw ma’am signing the papers with him! He’s the sponsor now!” She squealed in excitement.
It took few minutes for those words to sink in and then, she almost yelled. “My God! This man is…” She trailed off unable to find suitable word for him.
Anna was looking at her confusedly but soon her expressions turned into naughtiness. “It’s Ok di! You can shout as loud as you want! Nobody has the guts to say anything to you!” This angered Twinkle more and she started walking out in annoyance.
“Oh di wait.” Anna ran behind her. “Let’s go to the pathological lab and get your blood tests done. Then we’ll see how much time the reports will take.”
She nodded as soon as she registered the main purpose of coming. “Yes! You’re right. Come on let’s go.” She said before thinking, ‘I’ll see you Mr. Kunj for doing this!’
Both moved to their hospital’s pathological lab which was in the next lane.

PATH LAB:
“Ok so let’s have your blood sample.” Doctor smiled and injected a syringe in Twinkle’s vein for taking blood sample.
“When will the reports come doctor? I mean approx how much time will it take?” She asked hesitantly
“It’ll take a week.” Doctor replied on which Twinkle nodded.
‘So I’ve only one week now. This one week will decide the future of our relationship.’
***
Twinkle reached home and by the time it was evening, she knew it was late however, still she decided to pack the tiffin for taking it to Kunj’s office but to her surprise, Kunj arrived with a look of anger.
Twinkle huffed. ‘I should be angry with him right! He was the one who purchased the entire hospital. Ya! I won’t be silent.’
She took deep breath before started yelling. “Kunj what was all that huh? Why did you buy the hospital?” Kunj looked at her with uneasiness and little fear while Twinkle continued. “Had you lost your mind? You purchased the whole place where I work… For a girl who refused to take a pendant from you because it goes against her self respect… How could you hurt my self respect like that?”
Kunj made her sit on a chair and bent on his knees to come on her level. “Twinkle for your very kind of information, I purchased that hospital the day before I gave you the pendant so I didn’t know about your aversion to my gifts… NOW! Listen carefully, I did that not to show off or something. I did that for you! Because if they’ve black listed you or removed you from job, then you wouldn’t have got job anywhere! And as far as I know healing people gives you happiness right. I did that for your happiness and I guess this much explaination is enough!” Kunj said each word politely different from his usual tone.
Twinkle was dazed that how easily, she could fall into the web of his words or simply how beautifully he sums up his words.
Kunj sighed. “Okay whatever. Now you tell me why did you go to the hospital when I asked you to take rest at home?” He asked with little anger.
“I was fine Kunj so thought…. Anyways let’s have our food together.” She tried to escape from the topic.
He nodded and both settled themselves down on dinning chairs. While eating Kunj was continuously stealing glances from Twinkle as to find answers of his questions.
“Twinkle if I ask you something will you answer me honestly?” He stared her with suspiciousness.
She shrugged. “Ya! Anything.”
“What were you doing at Path lab?” He questioned taking her off guard. She looked at him speechless.
“I… Actually…” She didn’t know what to say. “Kunj I had my duty there you know some patients blood sample was to be taken by other staff but since they weren’t present so I had to be there.” She said whatever lie propped in her mind at that time and thankfully Kunj didn’t question her anymore.
After they were done with the food, she asked. “So… Why are you home so early?”
“Nothing I just came home to check on you since you weren’t at home when I came in afternoon.”
“Oh Ok.” She said. “But how did you get that I was in Path lab?” She added raising an eyebrow.
He wanted to avoid that question but he knew Twinkle would get it out anyhow!
“Kunj I really find it fishy. That day when that man tried to hurt me, you came though that place wasn’t even around hospital or home. And the other day also, you came to know that I was in school and today, I didn’t even take driver with me… Who could inform you then?”
He gulped audibly. “Twinkle!” Closing his eyes he started. “Don’t get mad at me but the… Phone I gifted you… It… It has a tracking chip inside.” He bit his inner cheek feeling guilty like he had committed a crime.
Twinkle was stunned but above all she was hurt. “Why? Don’t you trust me?” She asked lower than a whisper while tears were threatening to come out any moment.
Kunj shot up his head in alarm after hearing her words. He truly felt as if someone has pierced a dagger in him when she noticed her tears. “Oh no. I always make you cry. I’m a true jerk” He accused himself while moving towards her to wipe her tears.
Twinkle held his wrist for stopping to touch her. “If that pendant too had something hidden inside… A bug or something” She paused fearing that her voice will choke before gazing him. “You’ve trust issues with me… I can’t believe you don’t tru…”
Kunj kept his finger on her lips quickly. “No Twinkle! Believe me! It’s nothing about trust I swear. I trust you more than anything, more than anyone! I was just worried… That’s all. Twinkle how can you even think that I’ve trust issues with YOU? And about that pendant there isn’t anything attached with it except the fact that my emotions and love is attached with it.” He said rubbing her cheeks through his thumb with a weak smile. “I’m sorry… I hurt you!” Kunj added grimly.
Twinkle was sad but she couldn’t get angry about it because she couldn’t deny that once it has saved her life! “It’s Ok! I too am sorry.” Twinkle finally spoke with a light smile.
“No need… By the way Twinkle you admit it or not, not only you’ve bad luck but you court it! You’re a magnet of problems. In short you’re a ‘Siyaapa Queen’.” Kunj said in-a-matter-of-fact tone while letting a chuckle out.
Now Twinkle was fuming. “What did you call me huh? I’m what?” She snapped.
“Forget it!” He said meekly slightly rubbing her arms. “Let’s go out somewhere. Will you go out with me?” He asked smiling sheepishly or probably he was trying to make her forget whatever happened and gladly it worked!
She beamed with happiness. “Ok. Let’s go to… Juhu beach.” She exclaimed completely distracted from the previous conversation.
He heaved a sigh of relief while readily agreeing. Both didn’t realize they were actually behaving like real newly-weds.
***
They went to Juhu beach and it was really a soothing place. The golden sands glowing in the wind, the water touching their feet, the soft yet warm feel of sand under their feet was a feeling of bliss. Twinkle had always learn to seek happiness in the small things of life and wanted Kunj to do the same.
Instead of complaining what we don’t have, she had learned to appreciate what Lord had given her. As a result, she was contented. She had peace of soul, which was a rare thing!
Kunj was in his on world thinking about Nanaji’s words, Yuvraj’s words and moments with Twinkle. He couldn’t think of anything else.
“Kunj!” Twinkle called out.
“Huh! What happened?” He asked startling.
“Lost again?” She guessed smiling.
“No!” He flashed a smile. “You wanted to say something?”
“Ya. Go and get me an ice-cream.” She said pointing towards a stall on which he nodded and left without another word.
Twinkle was looking at Kunj while walking, she didn’t notice and she bumped into someone.
“Oh. I’m sorry! I didn’t see you coming.” Twinkle said urgently.
“Oh. It’s Ok!” The girl replied in a soft melodious voice smiling.
“Pakeeza!” A man at some distance shouted. “What happened?” He asked her.
“Nothing Hamza! We just bumped into each other.” She said sweetly.
“So you both are husband and wife?” Twinkle asked looking at his concern.
“No!”
“Yes!”
Both answered simultaneously but Hamza in affirmation whereas Pakeeza in negation making Twinkle confused.
By the time Kunj also joined them. “What happened?”
“Nothing.” Twinkle smiled taking ice-cream cone from his hand. “And where’s your ice-cream?” She asked annoyingly.
Kunj scratched his neck timidly. “I don’t want to eat.”
Twinkle shook her head. “We’ll eat half-half.”
Planned worked and Kunj secretly squealed in excitement while encircling his arms around her shoulder.
“I’m sure you both are married… And it has to be love!” Pakeeza chirped getting their attention.
Both (Twinkle and Kunj) felt their cheeks burn with shyness.
She cleared her throat. “Yes we’re married but it’s arrange.”
Hamza smiled. “Us too.” He exclaimed making Pakeeza to roll her eyes.
Twinkle sensed something was wrong between them. “Listen… I know I shouldn’t interfere in your matter but still I want to suggest you one thing…” She paused to give her cone to Kunj so that he can have his bite. “Troubles are a part of marriage, a part of life, without them we would never know the importance of happiness.” She then glanced at Kunj earning a smile from him. “Even we faced many problems in the start, adjusting with each other isn’t always easy but that doesn’t mean it isn’t possible.” She again moved her gaze to Pakeeza whereas Kunj had lost his smile thinking how he was rude with Twinkle initially, how he used to hurt her, tease her and demoralized her. He looked at her guiltily while Twinkle continued. “Love heals the most hurtful wound and changes the worst of people.”
‘Like your love healed me and changed me into a human.’ Kunj thought with a weak smile.
“Whatever happens but at the end of the day, husband and wife have to remember that they’ve to spend their lives with each other and there isn’t any escape.” She smilingly concluded.
Pakeeza was impressed. “Ya! I’ll think about what you said…” She looked at Kunj with a toothy smile. “And your wife is just amazing MashaAllah.”
Kunj gently squeezed Twinkle’s arm. “Ya. She’s incredible!”
Twinkle giggled with embarrassment. “Oh… It’s nothing! Stop flattering me.”
They all laughed at her pinkness. Hamza and Pakeeza after some light talks took their leaves.
Once after they left, Twinkle nudged Kunj who was drowned in deep thoughts of something. “What happened? Where are you lost today?”
Kunj stared her intently for few seconds which made Twinkle feel wierd. “I’m sorry Twinkle.”
She was puzzled. “Sorry? For what?”
“For everything… The way I behaved with you in starting days of our marriage, the way I doubted your intentions, even for making you marry me forcefully… I know sorry is a small word but I’ve nothing to…”
“You don’t have to be sorry Kunj. I understand you behaved that way because you didn’t know me properly and then so much happened in your past that’s why… Stop blaming yourself.”
“But…”
She interrupted. “No ifs and buts! Please Kunj, I don’t want you to blame yourself for anything.” She smiled. “And don’t you dare say that you married me forcefully. OK!” She glared faking her anger.
A curve appeared on his lips. “You’re happy with me na?”
“Happy…? Happy is an understatement Kunj. I’m more than happy.” She exclaimed making Kunj contented. “And I hope this happiness never ends.” Her smile faded slowly.
“It won’t don’t worry… I’ll never let this happened!” He stated confidently.
She looked at him. “Kunj I would be more happy if you’ll promise me for one thing!”
“Promise? Twinkle sometimes I literally get scared of you and your promises.” Kunj said nervously.
She rolled her eyes. “Oh please!”
“No… Seriously!”
“Fine whatever! So… Promise me…” She gulped to gather some courage. “That you’ll live your life happily even if I won’t be part of your life.”
He shot his eyes to her. “What do you mean by that? Care to explain.” His voice was laced with horror.
“Kunj see… Death and life is in Lord’s hands and we don’t know what’ll happen in future so…”
He furiously cut her in mid. “Stop right there Twinkle. I don’t want you to say further!”
“But Kunj I want you to live your life without any dependence. I want you to live independently please promise me.” She pleaded with teary eyes.
“Just knock it off Twinkle.” He snapped. “Ya! My life is dependent on you and I can’t change this fact neither I want.” Twinkle opened her mouth to protest but he showed his finger to stop. “I don’t want argument on this!”
She huffed in anger crossing her arms across her chest. “Fine! Do whatever you want. Waise bhe you never listen to me.”
Kunj sighed. “Twinkle!” But before he could say more she turned her face making him frown.
He annoyingly looked at sky and complaint “God you only found this girl as my wife.”
She turned to him glaring. “That means you’re getting irritate from me.”
Though he shook his head in ‘No’ but said. “What if I say YES?” He asked mischievously.
She widened her eyes. “You’re so mean!”
“I know that baby!” He mocked.
“Don’t call me that!” She snapped.
“So what should I call… Siyaapa queen or maybe I should call you a philo..sopher! What say?” He asked wiggling her brows.
“Kunj you…”
As soon as those words left from Twinkle’s mouth he started running to protect himself from his wife’s wrath.
“Kunj! I won’t leave you.” She shouted chasing him.
“I too want that baby!” He shouted back giggling.
And then the whole beach was enlightened with their joy and echoed with their giggling and laughing. They were enjoying with each other forgetting about everything and anything!
***
Up till falling asleep, Twinkle was talking about their wonderful outing at the beach and Kunj was listening each word with full attention because it rarely happened that Twinkle spoke her heart out freely and he really wanted her to open up with him!
In the middle of the night, both were sleeping soundly while Kunj wrapping his arms around her tightly when he opened his eyes hearing a voice humming a song.
‘Who is singing at this time of night?’ He thought and carefully removed his arms trying his best to not wake her up. After securing her with duvet he walked towards the source of the sound.
He reached the hall to see the silhouettes of a girl in a long, flowy gown lighting candles in the entire room.
The place looked so beautiful and her body was glowing golden in the light of the candles. She turned around and said melodiously. “Kunj! It’s me… Kalpana…!”
