Twinj: When I fell for you: Episode 16

Greetings all you lovely people. Ananya is back. A huge thank you to all of you for your precious comments. They really mean a lot to me. When I began writing, I had never imagined, not even in my best dreams, that anyone would actually like and appreciate my work. And today, I am presenting the 16th episode of my ff. It all still feels like a dream. Thank you all so very much.

Twinj: When I fell for you: Episode 16

A quick recap: Return to Amritsar, Twinkle’s suspicion of Alisha’s moves, and decision to get Kunj out of trouble.

Amritsar.
They all went to the Sarna mansion first, and after the Bidaai, the Tanejas took the newlyweds to their place. Yuvi and Twinkle consoled Amaya, who had been crying silently. She was worried if she would be able to handle the responsibilities of being a wife and a daughter in law. Usha had convinced her before they left the Sarna mansion, that just like she was a very good daughter, she would be a very good wife and daughter in law too, but the anxiety and nervousness had got the better of her.
Nevertheless, Yuvi and Twinkle managed to make her laugh by talking about the silly things they used to do, and by enacting the way the old ladies had behaved in the wedding.

Taneja mansion.
All the post marriage rituals were carried out with grandeur, with Amaya and Yuvi catching secret glances of each other. Later, everyone went off to their rooms, knowing that the reception was on the next day, and they had to get their beauty sleep before it.

One after the other, the lights in the Taneja mansion went off, leaving only the light in Twinkle’s room. She was thinking, trying to get clues about Alisha’s motives, when she heard some movement in the balcony.
She immediately opened the door, knowing who it was.

“Come in quickly and close the door after you” she ordered.
After her order had been carried out, she sat down on the couch and offered that person a seat too. Twinkle studied the fluctuating expressions on her visitor’s face, carefully observing as the initially calm look turned confused and then nervous. She chuckled, alerting the visitor, who sat up straight, trying to maintain a straight face.

“So speak up..” She said.
“What do you want to know?”
“You know what this is about. So you better spill the beans else I can find another source..”
That’s when she heard a noise in the corridor. She stealthily walked towards the door to find out who was there, but she tripped over something, and fell down.

“Twinkle!”
“Shush Kunj! Koi sun lega…”
“Par tumhe to chot lagi hai. Mujhe dekh ne do.”
She resisted, but he picked her up and put her on the bed.
“Chup. Siyappa Queen! Meri cross examination karna chahti thi tum. Khud ko bhi sambhal nahi sakti…” Kunj said, trying to move her ankle that seemed to be sprained. He was glad that it wasn’t.
“To kya hua Kunj? Tum to ho na mujhe sambhal ne ke liye…” She spoke absentmindedly.
“Ek dost ban kar” She added quickly, noticing what she had just uttered.

“Haan. So to hoon.” He answered, wishing she hadn’t added the friend part to her dialogue. “Aur hamesha rahoonga, par dost nahi, pyaar ban kar” he thought to himself, sighing.
“Accha ab to bata do apne is dost ko… Kya koi problem hai tumhare aur Alisha ke beech mein?”
“Yeh tu…. Kya keh rahi…. Hai….?” He hesitantly asked.
“Kunj… You trust me na? Maine notice kiya hai ki tum Alisha ke saath khush nahi ho… I can sense that there’s something that’s troubling you. Kya woh tumhe kisi baat se blackmail kar rahi hai? Please batao mujhe..”
“Twinkle… Main nahi jaanta tu kya keh rahi hai.. tujhe kyun aisa lagta hai ki Alisha aur mere beech koi problem hai? Aisa kuch nahi hai…” He said, recalling Alisha’s threat.

“Kunj.. main tumhe bohot acchi tarah se jaanti hoon. Main tumhari har jhoot ko aise pakad sakti hoon jaise mere khud ka jhoot ho… Main tumse pyar karti hoon Kunj! Tumhe kya lagta hai ki tum mujhse jhoot bologe aur main chup chap yakeen kar loongi?”
Kunj looked on in a daze, his expression of hesitation broke into a sweet smile. He was happy to hear Twinkle’s confession after such a long time.
“Kya kaha tumne? Aur ek baar kehna to?”
That’s when it struck her. Her eyes widened in horror as she realised what she had said.

“Main woh… Woh…”
“Woh woh kya kar rahi ho?”
“Kunj… Bohot raat ho chuki hai. Tum jao yahaan se. Kal reception hai na? Uske liye taiyaariyan bhi karni hongi…”
“Twinkle ek baat bataaoon? I still love you, and I always will…”
“Kya?”
“Kuch nahi… Maine toh kuch nahi kaha. Tumne kuch suna kya?” He said, winking at her, and left through the balcony door. He knew that she would be smiling at his words, and he was absolutely right. He was also exactly right that she would have further doubts on his equation with Alisha, and that she wouldn’t stop spying. Just like Twinkle knew him so well, he knew exactly how she would react in each situation too.
And this time, Alisha wouldn’t have the slightest doubt that Twinkle was going to catch her foul play. Besides, she would gradually be convinced that Kunj still loves her, and things would surely get back to normal between them real soon. He let out a sigh of relief, headed home happily.
