Twinj: It’s Always Been You: Episode 11
A quick recap: Twinkle’s outburst in response to Kunj’s proposal. She begins to avoid him completely, while he constantly keeps an eye on her. Aparna informs Kunj that Twinkle hasn’t given up on him yet, and also makes Twinkle realise that she can’t keep brooding over the past and needs to come to terms with it now.
“This tastes brilliant!” Leela told Twinkle as she tasted another of Twinkle’s newly learnt recipes. Twinkle smiled back at her gladly, and insisted that she should go and rest for a while until she finished cooking. Leela agreed and went to the living room after asking Chinki to help Twinkle out. “Whew! That was close.” Twinkle told Chinki, once she was sure Leela could no longer hear her. Chinki nodded and turned towards the pile of chopped vegetables that she had been hiding from Leela. “And that felt good.” Twinkle said, pointing at the heap. She had decided to accept Aparna’s suggestion of venting out the anger of the past bubbling in her, and the vegetables had turned victim. “That’s one step closer to being genuinely happy according to your stupid friend at least.” Chinki said, still a little annoyed at Aparna. Twinkle shook her head at her and said, “That should be enough hatred for her, really. Let it go, will you?” Chinki wasn’t the least happy about it, but hugged Twinkle and said, “Anything for you.” They pulled away when they heard loud voices in the living room, and rushed there.
Twinkle looked at Yuvi and Kunj, who had several injuries being brought in by Aparna, and turned to Chinki, who shrugged her shoulders. Leela brought the first aid box, and helped Aparna apply bandages to the boys who were made to sit opposite to each other. “What’s going on here?” Twinkle asked finally, not able to take the suspense anymore. “Guess who beat up each other!” Aparna exclaimed, glaring at Yuvi, who Twinkle noticed had lesser wounds than Kunj. Twinkle’s eyes now turned to Kunj, who had been writhing in pain, holding his left elbow. “They are not any major injuries. They’ll heal quickly.” Aparna assured Twinkle, who looked really worried. “I should have made sure the injuries were deeper!” Yuvi said, making Twinkle finally realise that they had beaten each other up. So far all she could think about was how hurt Kunj looked. “Stop it, Yuvi!” Aparna said, sounding as though she was saying it for the hundredth time, and was totally fed up of repeating it. “Ask him what he did, will you? Everything isn’t just my fault!” Yuvi responded angrily. “I only told him that he doesn’t deserve her!” He added, but refused to speak further, realising that Twinkle was now staring at him. “You did what?” She asked him, but he kept his head bowed, angering her. “I didn’t know Twinkle had appointed you to protect her emotions, Yuvi!” Aparna said sarcastically, rolling her eyes.
“Are you alright?” Chinki asked Yuvi, sitting down beside him, believing that he was only doing it for the sake of his friend and was not wrong at all. “Would one of you tell me what exactly happened there?” Leela asked, tired of listening to the same beating around the bush over and over. Twinkle looked at Kunj, who was looking blankly at the wall, and didn’t seem to have any intention of speaking. Yuvi told them that he ran into Kunj at the deserted sunset point. Twinkle shot a glance at Kunj, realising that it was the same spot that they called their regular. She wondered what Yuvi had been doing there. It turned out Yuvi had actually seen Kunj there while passing by and stopped to ask him to stay away from Twinkle. One thing had led to another, and they had ended up fighting violently until Aparna happened to spot them and bring them there. “I don’t understand why you had to take on that responsibility, Yuvi!” RT said, walking down the stairs. “But he only did what would be the best for Twinkle!” Chinki argued, but RT strictly maintained that it was completely up to Twinkle to decide what she wanted and how.
“He thinks Twinkle still loves him! In fact, he says he is confident, and that I should ask Twinkle for myself! How could I not smash him?” Twinkle heard Yuvi say to RT as she and Aparna helped Kunj into the guest bedroom on the ground floor so that he could rest. Twinkle helped Kunj onto the bed, while Aparna brought him a duvet. “He has a fever!” Twinkle told Aparna, who nodded and replied, “It’s because of the injuries. Let him rest for a while, he’ll be better.” Twinkle looked at Kunj, who had his eyes closed, her eyes welling up. “He didn’t hit Yuvi at all, Twinkle. He just pushed him away in self defence, because of which he got those small scrapes. But look at his own state!” Aparna said, revealing the detail that she couldn’t in front of the others. They turned around hearing Kunj murmur something in his sleep. “He’s in a delirium, Twinkle. He probably has no idea what he’s saying. I’ve asked a doctor friend of mine to come by and make sure everything is alright. Don’t worry; we won’t let anything happen to him.” Aparna said, smiling assuringly to Twinkle. Twinkle then called up Usha, who came with Manohar as soon as she could. “I’m sorry! It’s all happened because of me!” Twinkle apologised profusely to Kunj’s parents, with RT and Leela trying to explain what had happened, feeling really embarrassed by how a little argument had turned into a scuffle. “It’s probably still a lot lesser than how much he’s hurt you, Twinkle” Usha said, her voice void of all emotion, as she walked out after seeing her son, shocking everyone else.
“Where is Kunj?” Aparna asked, rushing out of the guest room, hoping someone must have seen him. The Sarnas were still there too, waiting for Kunj to wake up so that they could him home. They all stood up, confused at what was going on. Just then the security guard came in to inform them that Kunj drove away in the Sarnas’ car despite them asking him to go in and take rest. Usha and Manohar left immediately, promising to call back once they reached home and found Kunj there, and thanking the others for everything. “Twinkle! He’s left a note for you.” Aparna whispered to Twinkle, making sure nobody else heard her. Twinkle snatched the letter and rushed upstairs; she closed the door after her and opened the letter in a hurry. “You were right all along, and so was Yuvi. We can’t let ‘us’ happen. You deserve way better, especially after that night. Now that I’ve been able to recall everything, I can’t even face you anymore. I realise I can’t undo whatever happened, but I can definitely keep away and prevent hurting you further.” It read. She sat down with a thud. Not once had she thought she would have to face this, although she knew he had been following her for weeks, she had never stopped him, unaware to herself, she was falling deeper for him. His constant presence around her gave her some sort of assurance and comfort that she herself didn’t know she was lacking. She had always thought she would finally give in to his love when she would feel better about the past, but he hadn’t even given her enough time to heal.
“Those three years were easier than the last few weeks” Twinkle told Aparna when she had finally opened the door for her. “Back then, I always told myself that I was stupid for falling in love with someone who didn’t love me back, but his confession changed everything. I had been hoping things would work out between us this time around at least, now that we both were in love at the same time.” She whispered, speaking out her hopes for the first time. “This is partially my fault.” Aparna said, revealing to Twinkle that she and Kunj had been working on some methods that were sometimes known to help recall hazy memory. “I’m sorry!” Aparna said, beginning to sob as Twinkle looked out of the open window, holding back her tears. “Twinkle, if this is what you really want, as much as you wanted it back when you gave up your biggest dream for it, I don’t see why you are still here, crying like a weakling that you definitely aren’t!” They heard Yuvi’s voice as he entered the room. Twinkle looked at him in a shock, but he held his ears apologetically, and asked her to listen to her heart and quit thinking about the world for once. “Or, instead of going to him right now, how about we play a little game that traps him into coming back to you?” Chinki asked, joining Yuvi. They all shared a group hug, with Chinki and Yuvi apologising repeatedly for not even trying to understand her, but choosing to jump to conclusions instead. They then put their hands together, Aparna and Chinki having to nudge Twinkle into agreeing, their mission was on now.
That’s it for now, guys. Lots of love!
