Next day I hurried up to my work aftr finishing up my college. Evening I used to work to keep up my family demands. I went near the stable to give food for horses.
I kept on stealing glances towards the royal palace in an urge to see her bt all in vain.
‘Are u looking for me?’ A voice came from behind and I started sweating badly, I learnt in how much difficulty I am stuck now.
I turned around to see princess standing with a infectious smile. Her long white dress flying like waves in air. Her hair doubled her beauty.
‘No… no princess,’ I replied.
‘Don’t call me princess, I am just a visitor here,’ she said. I just smiled back.
‘I am twinkle,’ she introduced herself.
‘I am kunj,’ I said.
‘Yeah, I remember educated chariot driver,’ she smiled while I couldn’t help but smile at her cuteness.
‘Can u take me around,’ she requested.
‘U shouldn’t be requested, we ppl are here for ur service you should command us,’ I replied.
‘Plz don’t be so formal,’ she requested again.
I left the place to go get the chariot and came back with the open. I opened the door for her while she climbed in.
‘Where should we go, princess?’ I asked.
‘Just around this place,’ she said.
I started and we went all around the Cochin, I showed her the most beautiful shore, places and bays.
Everytime she was so excited and was happy too. For no reason I was also happy to be with her or to see her happy.
‘Stop there,’ she asked. I did so.
‘ What’s going on?’ She asked
‘Its a fair, arrangements are still going on, may be within 2 days it will start, ‘ I said.
‘What fair?’
‘Its an annual fair where ppl around the places will come to sell their goods and many to express out their talents. There will be more fun and other activities,’ I said.
‘I wanna go there,’ she exclaimed.
‘But u can’t princess, it’s for normal ppl like us,’ I said.
‘Then wt do u mean that I am abnormal?’ She sounded serious.
‘No…no.. I didn’t mean that. High class ppl won’t come here,’I stumbled with my words.
She laughed and said, ‘ Don’t be tensed,’ I smiled with relief.
After the whole evening ride we came back to palace.
‘It was nice one,thankq,’ she said forwarding her hand.
I hesitated a bit. I know how big crime it is to be around the women of royal families. I was still hesitations while she took back her hand. I think she understood while I stood blank over there.
‘That’s ok, I will leave now,’ she said and left.
I just stood there staring at her leaving. She disappeared in the darkness.
I too left back home where uv was waiting for me.
‘Where were u so late??’ He asked.
I told him everything he was in an utter shock.
Whole night he killed me with his questions all annoying things but I bared him answering him.
‘So how abt competition this time?’ He asked
‘U know, I won’t let go of it. This time also I will participate,’ I said.
‘You will surely win,’ He patted my back.
Within 2 days thr is a fair I need to be all ready this time also. I need to get the cash prize. I thought and dozed off.
Next day asusual I went to work in the evening but couldn’t find twinkle anywhere. For next 2 days same happened I kinda started missing her which was a great crime. But I was so desperate to see her as she was nowhere to be found. I can’t even ask anyone.
With a little disappointment I headed back home.
