Actress Meera Deosthale is a name which needs no introduction. She is known for her roles in Udaan and Vidya and is one of the actors who is respected for her finesses in acting. The actress, in a conversation with ETimes TV shared, that though she enjoys a set of amazing followers with a positive influence, she gives it back to those who write cheap and vulgar comments.
When asked how she filters out social media trolls and negativity, Meera shared, “Luckily, I have amazing set of followers. They are quite appreciative. Out of 500 comments, I might get 1 or 2 negative, body-shaming comments. And then I don’t go through all the messages because I don’t need that kind of negativity in my life.”
She believes there’s much more to life than reading who wrote what on her posts. She adds, “There’s so much to focus in life. But sometimes, when you look at those comments and go to their profiles… they are all faceless accounts. They don’t even have an identity of their own so I don’t need to give that kind of weightage. But yes, if someone is extremely cheap and vulgar, I will read and write back. I don’t appreciate ‘gandagi’.”
Meera also shared that while previously she would make a post on social media once in a blue moon, her engagement with the audience has increased now. She shares, “Now you have to be active on social media because people want to see you every day. I am getting used to it. Like I told you, how the world is changing, I am going along with it. I am trying to up my game.”
Post Vidya, the actress is looking forward to do some urban roles on TV and experiment with other platforms as well.
