Chapter 23: http://www.tellyupdates.com/unknown-feeling-chapter-23-payback/
(Recap: Yuvani makes Sayyam try on Yuvaan’s ring to make sure it will fit. Krishna helps Sayyam put on the ring, purposely hurting him to get back at him for fighting with her the previous day. Later, during Krishna and Yuvaan’s engagement, the ring does not fit Krishna, so Sayyam helps her put it on, but hurts her in the process, as ‘payback’)

Sayyam walked through the house door, his shoulders slumping in dejection. He had gone to visit Anjali; she’d been shifted to the Cancer Research center. Today had been her first chemotherapy session, and it had pained Sayyam to see such a lively girl trapped on a hospital bed, surrounded by so many beeping machines. Anjali had remained smiling throughout the whole session though, calmly holding on to Sayyam’s hand.
“Where’s Krishna di” Anjali had asked when Sayyam arrived, her eyes wandering.
“She couldn’t come-” Sayyam was about to explain when she’d interrupted him.
“Why?” Anjali pouted.
“Today is her haldi ceremony-”
“What?”
“Yes Anjali, she-”
“With Yuvaan?”
Sayyam paused, remembering how Krishna had agreed for the marriage. He’d masked his gloom behind a smile, which Anjali clearly saw through.
“Yeah, with Yuvaan,” Anjali opened her mouth to interrupt again, and Sayyam had playfully scolded her, “Princess I’m telling you everything, na? You have to be patient. You’re just like Krishna- both of you talk nonstop.”
Anjali had looked at Sayyam mischievously, “Sayyam bhaiya, do you like her?”
Sayyam looked at Anjali, startled, and it was then that it had struck him- how much he cared for Krishna, how he had warmed up to her, he was happy when she was happy, sad when she was crying. He enjoyed her company. He realized that he had a soft spot for her; she had unknowingly torn down all the walls around his heart and had made a place for herself, without him ever realizing. He’d always had to make an effort to stay away from her.
“No,” he’d said with conviction, thinking to himself, ‘I can’t like her, not anymore…’
Sayyam was remembering how conflicted he had felt at the hospital, when he bumped into Krishna. He looked up and frowned at her. “Can’t you walk properly?”
“It’s not my fault you were not paying attention to your surroundings!” she retorted, turning around to walk away, but then turned back again. “You went to meet Anjali, right? How is she now?” she looked at Sayyam hopefully.
“What am I supposed to tell you, you should’ve been there; she was asking where you were.” Sayyam rudely stated.
Krishna felt stung, “You told her today is the haldi, didn’t you?”
“Of course I did,” Sayyam started walking away, feeling immense guilt for hurting her like this.
“Wait, please…tell me how she is,” Krishna pleaded, chasing after him, her skirts swishing side to side as she ran.
Sayyam turned around, finally taking a good look at her. She was wearing a red sleeveless blouse with a heavy skirt, which was laced with a golden border. Her hair had been curled, and was tumbling down her back. ‘Yuvani must’ve done her hair and makeup’ he thought, staring at her; she had barely put any lipstick on; and there was the faintest hint of blush on her cheekbones- she looked like an angel.
“Sayyam?” Krishna waited for his reply, and he decided to talk to her- just this one time.
“Her first chemo-session was today; the doctor still has to analyze her progress and see whether her body is responding to the treatment.” Krishna stood still for a minute, gaping at Sayyam’s face.
“Are we done?” He sighed, exasperatedly, “Or is there more you want me to say?”
“What’s going on here?” Yuvaan appeared suddenly, wrapping an arm around Krishna’s waist and pulling her towards him. Sayyam felt irritated with the interruption, but Krishna placed her hand on Yuvaan’s arm.
“Yuvaan! You’re here, I was searching for you!” Krishna smiled warmly, hugging Yuvaan.
She had done so much for Sayyam, and how had he treated her? She had to show him she didn’t care about his actions…all that mattered to her was Yuvaan, who would soon be her husband. She tightened the hug when she saw Sayyam clench his jaw in frustration, and felt victorious as he walked away, running a hand through his hair in agitation.

Hey guys, here’s the next chapter! (I know it was pretty short, but I’ll post the next one soon) Thank you for all the wishes and praise, it was really heart-warming to see all your comments. Looks like Sayyam is gonna try even harder to stay away from Krishna, it’s like he’s gonna try to find reasons to hate her…when will he learn… 😉
Until next time,
Shreya <3
