We had reported earlier that actor Vibha Chibber has been roped in to play a titular role in Colors’ Choti Sardarni opposite Puneet Issar. But it looks like fate has something else in store. The actor was still shooting for Tera Yaar Hoon Main at that point of time but as her track in the show was about to come to an end, she was quick to hop and enter the Colors show playing actor Puneet Issar’s on-screen wife.
However, just hours before she was set to fly for Delhi for the shoot, she tested positive for COVID-19. And owing to this the makers had to hunt for a new face for the role. It’s actor Rinku Dhawan who has been signed on to play the role now.
Chibber confirmed it with ETimes TV as she said, “I underwent a test for COVID-19 on June 1 in Rajkot, where I was shooting for Tera Yaar Hoon Main. The reports were negative. I returned to Mumbai on June 3 and underwent another round of tests on the following day as I had to leave for the shoot of Choti Sarrdaarni. Unfortunately, my reports were positive. However, there were no symptoms, so I underwent the test again yesterday. That, too, has come positive. I have isolated myself. That’s what I usually do every time I come back home from a shoot.”
When asked if she’s disappointed with the incident, she said, “Honestly, I am a bit shocked about testing positive for COVID-19. Aise kaise ho sakta hai ki June 1 ki report negative aayi aur teen dinn ke baad positive aa gayi. I was quite excited and packing my bag to leave for the shoot of Choti Sarrdaarni. I even gave measurements for my costumes and the wig. I received the report just two hours before I was all set to leave. Of course, I am disappointed. But at the same time, I am glad that I have no symptoms and I am doing well. I am taking it positively. I have been working non-stop for a year ever since the lockdown was lifted in 2020. So, this is a sign from God to sit back, relax and take it easy for a few days (smiles). Kyunki kaam aata hai toh mana toh hota nahi hai.”
On her part, Dhawan, who was last seen in Gupta Brothers said, “It’s always amazing to get back to work irrespective of the forced sabbatical our industry tends to thrust on us. I always look forward to returning to work with as much zest as I had on the first day of my journey.”
