Wagle Ki Duniya actors Sumeet Raghavan and Chinmayee Salvi talk about their Gudi Padwa celebration
Gudi Padwa is a festival celebrated in Maharashtra in which people create beautiful Gudis in their homes and then worship them. Gudi is said to ward off negative energy and attract wealth into our lives. On this auspicious occasion, actors of the Wagle family wish their viewers a happy Gudi Padwa. Here’s how they celebrate the festival.
Sumeet Raghavan who essays the role of Rajesh Wagle in the show shared, “Gudi Padwa is an auspicious occasion for the Maharashtrian community. It signifies a New Year and brings prosperity to the house and family. Every year, my family and I set up a Gudi and pray for good luck and blessings. I love eating aloo wadi, as food is something that can be relished by everyone in the house. We get together, have conversations, and enjoy this new beginning with each other. We love celebrating Gudi Padwa together as well on the sets of Wagle Ki Duniya since the show is all about togetherness and family. It is truly a joyous time on set.”
Chinmayee Salvi aka Sakhi Wagle also added to the conversation and shared, “Shrikhand puri is my favorite delicacy on Gudi Padwa. The day starts with us decorating a Gudi and bathing with neem leaves as part of a shuddhi karan. In my college days, I used to dress up in a nauvari saree and attend the parades that take place in Mumbai. Performing kathak, enjoying good food, and bringing in the new year with family is an extremely fond memory. Wishing the viewers a very Happy Gudi Padwa.”
