25. Rescue Attempt

[October 13, 2016 – 7.30 pm]

Sameer, Pandit, Munna, Preeti and Naina are searching for pub to find some clue regarding Swati but they could not. As much as they know, brothels and pubs are something that is used only rich men and politicians. Also, in Chennai, they don’t know any places to navigate the pub. After some time of constant searching, they decided to part into two to search for Swati. Pandit and Sameer go in a separate way while Munna, Preeti and Naina goes in a separate way. Even though police gave convictions regarding the rescue of Swati, the actions taken by them didn’t satisfy the friends which they find ineffective.

Preeti – “Naina, I really don’t think, we could locate the brothel soon. This place is too dense and big to search. We need to seek help from some local people.”

Naina too feels the same. Munna’s phone beeps. Its an unknown number and he predicts it to be Swati and attends the call. Naina and Preeti are near him.

Munna – “Hello, Swati…”

Swati – “Munna… Please save me, Munna.. My mom…”

Munna – “Don’t worry, your mom is safe with us.  We are in Chennai. Don’t get nervous. First say, where are you?”

Swati – “I don’t know where I am. But it is a pub. I think it is 15 kms from the place where my mom and I fought with the guy. They seem to export me to a foreign land as a pr*stitute. Please save me, Munna.”

Munna – “Okay, Swati… We would come there soon. Until then, hide somewhere…”

The call gets cut. On the other side, Swati is looking at her power and it got cut due to tower issues. Nearby, a man was lying unconscious.

[Flashback: Swati and her other fellow ladies wore the appropriate dress for bar dancers and comes out. Swati lets the ladies go in front. She saw a bartender speaking to someone in phone and secretively she takes a takes a stick and beat him thus he is blacked out. He drags him to a store room like one and hides him and it is the place where she contacted Munna.]

Naina calls Sameer and Munna to come to the place where Swati mentioned. They successfully reached the bar which  Swati hinted. (They got address from Priyanka)

Sameer – “Guys, these places are extremely dangerous. We cannot enter normally through entrance. Many politicians visit the brothel regularly. So, we should enter the place bit more consciously.”

Preeti – “But we should rescue Swati. Then what shall we do?”

Pandit – “We cannot enter in this attire as they find us easily we are middle class people.”

Munna – “These places usually start working by now. I think some more people would enter. Probably, they would dance for some hours. Then, they start their illegal activities like prostitution and others. So, girls can enter directly but in disguise. Then, you can go and see if there is some other way to come inside. Then, we can enter.”

Naina – “Disguise means… wearing dancer dresses right? But where can we get that?”

Preeti – “Let us cover our face with dupatta. We can reason that we are new entry if they ask.”

Naina and Preeti covered their face with a shawl and at the same time, gulped their fear in the throat. Their leg shakes. Sameer holds Naina’s hands and says, “We need to save Swati. Focus on Swati not on fear of being caught.”

Pandit and Munna hide themselves in the garden area of the building (pub) and tries to find if there is a way.

Naina and Preeti enters inside and no one cared their entry which give them a relief. They get into all rooms for searching Swati but they could not find Swati. To their suprise, they find Swati’s dresses in the room and confirms that Swati was brought up here. They find a wardrobe and changed their attires into a dancer’s one. They hide their dresses in the same room.

They come outside and a lady was staring at them. Naina and Preeti are looking at them in shock (their face was covered by shawl). They tried to act normal. Before Naina could speak something, the lady hold both the girls hand and take them down and pushed them. The girls stands up and there are someother girls standing near them looking at the two blank. One of the girls give hands to them to make them stand. It is Swati.

The lady stares at them – “Guests are waiting for so long. What are you doing in the room?”

Her bold voice rattles the girls but Naina and Preeti but they are relieved as they didn’t find their intention.

Devil Yaar na miley plays.

The girls start to dance.

Swati – “Dumb girls!  I am the one who make them stand. But they completely forgot to recognise me.”

Naina – “Oh, hello! We could not, as you covered your face with shawl.”

Swati – “But I recognised you, na!”

Preeti – “Yeah Swati, for that it is not enough even if we present Nobel prize.”

Preeti smirks and Swati stares at her. Then the three break into laughter.

Swati, Naina and Preeti manages to dance in same line.

Although Swati recognise Preeti and Naina but they didn’t recognise Swati is standing near them. They continues dancing.

Meanwhile, at outside, Munna climb by holding the pipe to go to the top of the building. Sameer and Pandit are waiting outside for the girls reply about the proxy-door to get inside.

Thirty minutes passed by,

The girls stopped their dance.

Swati hold Naina and Preeti to a corner.

Naina – “Leave me. Who are you?”

Swati removed the shawl from her face. Naina and Preeti smile at her. The girls share a hug and they cry. Swati released the hug.

Swati – “How are you both here? In fact Munna is also here. How did your reach? Why are dancing?”

Naina – “Its just a part of your rescue mission Swati. Come one, let us move up and change our dresses and we can escape through window.”

Swati – “I feel like being blacked out? Why?”

Naina holds her hands and they three go upstairs without being caught by anyone. Within few minutes, the people who are in the hall (dancing area) were gone unconscious.

Naina, Swati and Preeti splashed some water in their faces after reaching the dress changing room. They changed their dresses and comes out through the direct way. The girls cover their nose and leave the pub soon. They reached outside where Sameer, Munna and Pandit are standing,

Swati looks at Munna emotionally. She feels so guilty of whatever happened some days ago. But still she is wondered how he didn’t get angry on her. Munna looks at her and gets relieved as she is alright. They are looking at eachother. Others are looking at them.

Munna’s eyes waters. Seeing that, Swati runs into him and hugs him tightly cries. They were crying. Their hug reduced all their agony in these days.

[Flashback: Sameer and others bought chloroform from the pharmacy before coming to the pub. Munna climbed up to mix the chloroform in the liquid of  AC vent. As the hall is air- conditioned, within some minutes those who breathed the AC gone unconscious]

They break the hug.

Munna: Priyanka aunty is safe with us, Swati. Don’t worry. Police too will soon and arrest them.

Swati: Thankyou Munna….

Swati hugs Naina and Preeti.

Sameer, Munna and Pandit also hugs.

They leave the place as soon as possible.

Agarwals house (their old house at Chennai) – 9 pm

The elders are desperately waiting for Naina and Preeti. It’s been time and they are in unfamiliar area and they were extremely frightened about the Naina and Preeti’s missing. Sonakshi is the one who gave permission to go out for the visiting park as Naina and Preeti pleaded her to go. Thus she allowed her. Now, the family members are blaming her for leaving the girls alone. Sonakshi too feels upset about the fact of leaving them outside. Rakesh and Anand went out for searching the girls.

Finally, Naina and Preeti come there along with Swati and Priyanka. Sonakshi hugs Naina and Preeti.

Bela – “Where are you both went? What happened to Priyanka didi? Why is she looking so dull.”

Beena – “What is happening here?”

Naina and Preeti said whatever happened some days ago but they cooked up a fictional story on how they rescued Swati from the brothel not to create unnecessary scenes.

Beena – “Thank god, everything is fine now. You better stay with us as you sold your house and it takes time to get cancelled the selling.”

Bela – “Didi is right. You did a right thing by bringing them here.”

The ladies informed Rakesh and Anand to come home as the girls returned. The family goes to sleep.

Sonakshi is in  a terrace, thinking about Dev. She is looking at the moon and blushes as she imagines Dev’s image in the moon. Sonakshi tries to restrict her thread of thoughts but she could not. She could not belive whether it was love or just attraction or infatuation. Whatever it is, love at first sight becomes real love only if souls stayed connected by hearts. Otherwise, it is just a mirage of thought processing. Why am I thinking all these things? I don’t know whether he will cross or meet me any day. But why am I longing for him? If I really like him, why shouldn’t I say that openly to him? Why am I feeling such anxiety?

Her thoughts were broken as Naina pats her shoulder. Sonakshi looks at her.

Naina – “I am sorry Didi. Because of me, chachi and taiji are upset with you. Only because of you, I could able to save Swati from the brothel.”

Sonakshi looks at her amazed. Naina tells the actual anecdote to Sonakshi. Sonakshi hugs Naina tightly.

Sonakshi – “You know, I am so proud to call you as my friend and sister. You are really a brave girl who go to any extention to save someone just like Anand papa (dad).”

Naina – “Chachu…”

Sonakshi – “Yeah, Naina… It is because of dad that I am living here and doing my medical course. Otherwise, my mom could have died along with me as an infant.”

Naina – “Didi… What are you saying?”
