Gurpreet Singh is still remembered for his effortless portrayal of Sujal Garewal in the popular show “Kahiin To Hoga.” The actor became a sensation with his charm and good looks. Despite stepping into the role after the immensely popular Rajeev Khandelwal, who originally played the male lead opposite Aamna Sharif, Gurpreet took his time and eventually won over the viewers.
Recently, in an interview with Times Now, Gurpreet addressed various rumors, including those about his rapport with co-star Aamna Sharif and the speculated relationship between Aamna and Rajeev Khandelwal.
When asked about the rumored Cold War with Aamna Sharif, Gurpreet admitted that she was not particularly friendly towards him, and their relationship was strictly professional. Reflecting on his initial days on the set, Gurpreet said, “Aamna achi thi but straightforward. Kaam se kaam rakhna. Toh mujhe laga yahin yaha ka culture hai toh thode time baad mein bhi waisa hi ho gaya (Aamna was nice but straightforward. She was just into work. I felt that this is a kind of culture here. So, after a point of time, I also became like that).”
Gurpreet also touched upon the rumors of a real-life relationship between Aamna Sharif and Rajeev Khandelwal. While he neither confirmed nor denied the speculations, he mentioned that he had heard the same rumors but chose not to delve into their personal lives.
Describing “Kahiin To Hoga” as the toughest gig of his career, Gurpreet revealed that he worked almost 20 hours a day for the show. This dedication was essential for maintaining the show’s high standards and ensuring its success.
“Kahiin To Hoga” premiered in September 2003 and concluded in February 2007. Produced by Ekta Kapoor under her banner Balaji Telefilms, the show was a massive hit, primarily due to the electrifying chemistry between Aamna Sharif (Kashish) and Rajeev Khandelwal (Sujal). While Aamna remained with the show until its end, Rajeev left midway, leading to Gurpreet Singh stepping in to fill his shoes.
Gurpreet Singh’s reflections offer a glimpse into the behind-the-scenes dynamics of one of television’s most beloved shows, “Kahiin To Hoga,” and the challenges and relationships that shaped his journey as an actor.
