Shling Brring Sarrvaling, nostalgic enough? The show Shararat- thoda jaadu, thodi nazaakat was a beautiful fantasy sitcom and was a major hit among the adolescents as well as the adults. The critics and fans loved it alike as laughter was served in a subtle and realistic manner in the show. The show aired on Star Plus and was loosely based on the American sitcom Sabrina, the teenage witch.
Now that we are working at the comfort of our homes, there’s that extra bit of creativity which is pouring out. We alloted a new cast to Shararat and it seems super thrilling to even think about the show with these characters. Have a look:
Jia Malhotra: Shivangi Joshi
Jia, was the protagonist of the show and was well played by Shruti Seth. The 18 year old girl, who is always confused between her normal human life and her witch family. The current day actress who can nail the role withthe same level of innocence is none other than Shivangi Joshi. Shivangi will do the perfect justice to the character. We can clearly picture her getting all confused, sad at random happenings, yet remaining bubbly with the support of her family. Can you already hear her saying, “Ab mein kya karu naani?”
Sushma Mehra aka Naani: Supriya Pathak
And well, who will be her naani? The naani who rescued her from every situation, had the most perfect answers for her. The very own naani, played by none other than Farida Jalal was every one’s favorite, wasn’t she? And how she used to tell her grand daughter to use her magical powers for everything. Now that we think of her, we can imagine Supriya Pathak essaying the role with as much ease and finesse. She can make wonders for the blunders!
Dhruv: Priyank Sharma
Ohhhh. Dhruv… Jia’s love!!
Dhruv, which was played by smart looking, Karanvir Bohra wasthe charming man of the show. A basket ball player, a handsome hunk and one of Jia’s close friends. Jia had a major crush on him. And guess what, we think Priyank Sharma can do this character really well. He has charming looks and is just worth drooling! He will even look good opposite Shivangi. Forget Jia, we will have a crush on this Dhruv, won’t we?
Dr. Suraj Malhota: Rajesh Kumar
Suraj Malhotra was the cool one. Sandwitched between wife and mother in law, Sooraj had a hint of craziness in him and there is none other than Rosesh Sarabha aka Rajesh who can suffice for what Suraj brought to the screen. Rajesh can do good job being the father here. He can be smart and respectable as well.
Radha Malhotra: Shilpa Shinde
Jia’s mom. The wise old elf kinda lady. The character was played by Poonam Narula and she always made sure that every one was happy and even did a lot for her beloved husband. Radha was the typical mother, who used to be cautious about her daughter and her naughty mother. Shilpa Shinde will look good in this character and bring justice to it. There is a chance that she can even out do what Poonam did. Don’t you think?
Shanti Saberwal: Bharti Singh
Shanti Aunty, played by Shoma Anand was a classic one. The witty one, making pun on everyone’s lives. The jealous, detective like neighbor who was sure that something was not right with the Malhotra family and well, the sequences she was given were hysterical to the T. She used to eavesdrop, watch the family and was a drama queen herself. She used to come to Malhotra house to ask for something or the other, be it sugar or dahi. Bharti can do a mind blowing job and the audience would love her! Shanti also used to hit on Suraj and we can clearly picture her flirting! Bharti,Singh it is then!
Parminder aka Pam: Karishma Sharma
Pam was played by Simple Kaul. She was NRI return and again a total drama queen. Jia hated her as she made sure that she would steal Dhruv from her. She even told that she would snatch Meeta, her best friend from her. Karishma has the right attitude to play Pam.We would also love to watch Jia teaching Pam some lessons for messing with her guy. Won’t you love it?
Meeta: Aditi Bhatia
Meeta was Jia’s best friend and was played by Additi Mallik. Meeta was a dumb but a real gem at heart. She was always in her own dreams and would run behind Raja, which he used to get frustrated about. Aditi Bhatia, we think, can do a good job in playing Meeta’s character. She would be a good support system for Jia.
re-create it. Season 2, perhaps? We would be the first one to watch or stream this.
