Chapter 7- Here

Swara and Sanskar were returning back home and there was absolute silent in the car.A soft music was playing in the background to suit the atmosphere.She had kept her eyes closed and rested her head on the seat.He was driving and had kept his hand on hers and occasionally rubbing it slowly with his thumb.She had that constant smile on her face and he was also happy to see it. Soon it started raining and he had to slow down to drive carefully.She opened her eyes and looked out.Her smile widened to see rain and see looked towards him with pleading eyes.
Swara(pleading):Sanky…Sanky… please naa I want to play in the rain… Please…pretty please….
She said with the most innocent face.He was trying to overhear her pleas and overlook her eyes, but I guess our hero was failing miserable.
Sanskar(sighing):Please Shona.. You know naa you can’t play in the rain..You are not well..
Swara(pleading):Please Sanky….. please please please………
He sighed and parked the car at the side of the road.
Sanskar:But only for sometime.. Okay?
She nodded with a wide grin on her face.He got out the car , came to her side , opened the door and helped her out.She was stumbling but he caught her by the waist.Both of them were looking at eachother, his eyes full of love and hers with new hope.He placed her on his foot as if she was standing on his foot like she is a new born baby and he is teaching her to walk.She let go off her hold on him and spread open her hands.He caught her by waist and let her enjoy the rain.She was laughing and playing with raindrops and he was just admiring her.He started walking slowly towards the middle of the empty road and she laughed at it.He was teaching her to walk on the path of ‘LOVE’ again.He pulled her up and they looked towards eachother.The drops were making her face more beautiful.He leaned in and she closed her eyes to feel her ‘FIRST KISS’.But to her shock she kept a lingering kiss on her forehead.She snapped open her eyes and looked at the man in front of her.
Sanskar(softly):I know you are not ready for it….
She was in tears hearing him but he failed to notice it due to rain.She just hugged him.
Swara(softly):You know me too well….
Sanskar(softly):I do….
They started dancing in the rain slowly while looking at eachother…

(He turned her slowly and back hugged her keeping his face on her shoulder)
Sanskar:Baahon mein teri ab yaara jannat hai
Maangi Khuda se tu woh mannat hai
(She kept her head on his chest and closed her eyes)
Swara:Teri wafa ka sahara mila hai
Teri hi wajah se ab main zinda hoon
(He tighten the hug around her as if telling her not to think about those horrible past)
Teri mohabbat se zara ameer hoke
Churaya hai maine kismat ki lakeeron se
Mile ho tum humko bade naseebon se

They kept on hugging eachother and let the rain drench them completely as if telling the nature to wash away all their bad memories.They were pacefully enjoying it until a sharp cry disturbed them.
Swara:Sanky did you hear that?
Sanskar:Yes.I heard it.But don’t know from where it is coming?
Swara:Let’s go and see it.
Sanskar:No..You aren’t going.You sit in the car I will go and check it.
He made her sit and went in search of the source of the cries.Swara was feeling restless about it and she was unable to sit in the car silently.She opened the door and went out in the rain.Her leg wasn’t supporting her still she lipped and started following the sound.As she was approaching the sound,Sanskar came to her.
Sanskar(shocked):What are you doing here?I asked you to sit in the car and wait naa.You have hurt yourself and now you are…
Swara(cutting him off):Stop your ranting and find the source of this horrible cry.I was unable to sit back and wait for you.Don’t know why but the cries was pulling me towards it.Please let me also go with you.. I can’t just stay back and wait for you to return Please…
Sanskar(holding her by the shoulder):Okay fine come but be careful and walk okay..Slowly..
Both of them started walking slowly and reached near a forested like area.
Sanskar:Shona I guess the sound is coming from there.You wait here I am going in and seeing it Okay?(seeing her not agreeing and she was about to protest).No I won’t listen to you now.I listened you then but not now.Did you get it?You….(looking around and spoted a bench)..Sit there and wait.I will just go and come.Okay…
He made her sit and ran into the forested area.Every second was like a decade to her.She couldnot sit still and was about to get up when the cries died and silent prevailed again along with the sound of rain drops.She relaxed a bit and was waititng for Sanskar to return.But I guess he was taking his sweet time and was making her more anxious.She was going to loose her patience when he appeared from there with something in his arms.She frowed looking at it.As he approached towards her she got a clear view of the thing in his arm rather than thing it was someone…. A CUTE BABY GIRL… wrapped in a heavily soaked towel.She was shocked.
Swara(shocked):Sanky…Sanky…it is a baby… But whose?
Sanskar(almost panting):I don’t know Shona…. But seeing her I couldnot control myself from taking her in my arms and you know as soon as I took her in my arms she stopped crying.…
Swara:She is so small…Who might have left her here and that to in such a rainy day…
Sanskar:I don’t know but she attracted me and I took her… you want to hold her?
She nodded and he carefully placed her in her arms.As soon as the baby went to Swara ,she curled into her embrace as if sensing a mother’s warms embrace.Swara smiled and kissed her cheeck lightly.Tears gathered in Swara’s eyes seeing her state.
Swara(chocking voice):How can world be so cruel Sanky?Who leaves an almost new born baby like this?Since she is a girl the mother left her like this?How can she do like this?
Sanskar(hugging her sideways):I know how you are feeling Shona…This world is very cruel….But see naa she is very lucky. She got you as her MOTHER….
Swara:… And you as her FATHER….(completing him).
He was shocked to hear it and kept looking at her.She nodded in agreement that whatever she said was absolutely right.He smiled with tears and kissed her forehead and then the baby too.A small smile made way in the baby’s face.They smiled at it and hugged her more tightly.Suddenly Swara detached her and watched the baby in shock.
Swara(shocked): Sanky…. Sanky… I can’t feel her heart beat… something is wrong with her… DO SOMETHING….
Sanskar checked her pulse and he also became shocked…
Sanskar(shocked):Shona…her pulse is dropping.We need to rush her to hospital soon otherwish…
Swara(shouting):No….Nothing will happen to her…I won’t let anything happen to her…No..No…
Sanskar:Swara…Swara…. calm down…. calm down….okay….. Lets go back to the car.I have some spare cloths.Lets change and wrap her in a towel and then we will go the hospital okay…
Swara:Haa.. haa chalo…(She started to walk but) Aahh….
Sanskar(concerned):I told you not to walk still you wont listen naa… Stubbarn woman…
Saying so he picked her up in his arms and started walking.Soon rain also stopped and they reached towards the car.He made her sit and sshe removed the towel around the baby and removed her cloths which was fully wet.She started rubbing her tiny palma nd feet to provide her with warmth.Meanwhile Sanskar changed his cloths and came to them.
Sanskar(giving her fresh cloths):;Shona.. Change it.I am taking her till then.
He took the baby and wrapped her in a fresh towel. He hugged her to his chest to provide some warmth and it seems as if it worked to some extent.Her breathing was becoming quite normal and he could feel her heart beats too.Swara broke his trans and he gave the baby back to her.He hopped into the driver’s seat, turned the ac into heater and drove towards the hospital as soon as possible.
HOSPITAL
Sanskar rushed through the corridor with the tiny life in his arms and shouted for the Doctor.
Sanskar(shouting):Doctor…..Doctor…
Doctor(rushing towards him):What happened Sanskar?Why are you so tensed?
Sanskar(panting):Doctor… See her naa Doctor..We got her from road abondon on the road and we cant feel her pulse also please check her…. please….
Doctor:Calm down Sanskar… I will check her….(shouting) Nurse.. Nurse….(Nurse arrived) Take her to the emergency ward and give all the necessary treatments I am coming just now. (looking towards Sanskar) And you just calm down and wait here.
Doctor went away with the baby and Sanskar stood there still.He was brought back to the world by A hand on his shoulder.He turned to see Swara Standing with great difficulty.He immediately made her sit and sat down in front of her.
Sanskar:Who told you to come here alone? I was going naa…
Swara:I am fine… But I couldn’t just sit still in the car so I came… What did doctor say…She will be fine naa?
Sanskar:They took her…. I don’t know what will happen but he assured not to worry….
He held her hand in his and squeezed it lightly.He sat down beside her and she lightly put her head in his shoulder.They sat there in silence and prayed for the little ones well being.Their moment was broken by the doctor.
Doctor:She is stable now… But we need to keep her in observation for a day.
Sanskar:Thank you so much doctor…Thank you…
Doctor:It was just my duty…But I wanted to ask who is she?
Swara(wiping her tears):We don’t know Doctor but we got her abondon on the road so we…
Sanskar:Brought her here… But I want to make it clear Doctor… This news shoudn’t go out this hospital ever..
Doctor:Don’t worry it won’t.But she needs a name and a family too..Are you thinking of adopting her?
Sanskar:Yes.. We are(looking at Swara) By tomorrow She will definetly have a name and a family…
Swara nodded in agreement and the doctor took their leave. They hugged eachother and thanked God silently for saving their ANGEL…..
