Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai: Hina Khan and Rajan Shahi Address Past Conflicts

The long-running TV show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai has captivated audiences for the past 15 years, consistently performing well on the TRP charts. Produced by Rajan Shahi, the series debuted in 2009 with Hina Khan and Karan Mehra in the lead roles of Akshara and Naitik, respectively. After eight years, the narrative shifted to focus on Shivangi Joshi and Mohsin Khan as Kartik and Naira, a transition that left some fans disheartened by Hina Khan’s departure.

Recently, Rajan Shahi opened up about Hina Khan’s exit, revealing that it was not amicable and that they had faced several conflicts. Speaking to Telly Talk, Shahi mentioned that while he regarded Hina like a daughter and acknowledged her hard work, issues arose due to her interference with the scripts. He recounted an incident where Hina refused to perform a scene that highlighted Shivangi Joshi’s character, Naira, leading to further tension.

In response to these claims, Hina Khan addressed the matter in an interview with Galatta India. Although she didn’t mention Shahi by name, she indirectly discussed her reaction to his comments. She expressed surprise and mentioned that she has refrained from speaking about him out of respect, yet she finds the remarks perplexing.

Hina reflected on the significance of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai in her career, noting how deeply her departure affected her father. She admitted that the parting with the show was slightly bitter but emphasized that she harbors no ill feelings now. Honoring a promise to her father, Hina maintained that she would refrain from speaking negatively about anyone associated with the show, underscoring her commitment to upholding that vow.

Additionally, she expressed to the portal, “I will only say that I have a lot of regard and respect that will always be there in my heart.” She accepts having no hard feelings against anyone. Concluding her statement, she remarked, “Kabhi kabhi kya hota hai na, joh bohat bolta hai na zaroori nahin hai ki voh sahi ho aur joh kam bolta hai na ya nahin bolata hai zaroori nahin hai ki voh galat ho.” (Sometimes, it’s not necessary that those who speak a lot are always right, and those who speak less or remain silent are always wrong.)
