The much-anticipated comedy show Aapka Apna Zakir, hosted by popular comedian Zakir Khan, has officially gone off-air, leaving fans across the country disheartened. Despite the hype surrounding the show, it failed to meet expectations, and according to reports, its poor ratings led the makers to pull the plug.
In an exclusive report from Times Now and Telly Talk India, sources revealed that the show’s second-week ratings were shockingly low. One source mentioned, “The second week’s ratings of Aapka Apna Zakir are so abysmally low that the makers almost fell off their chairs. They were only getting big stars, but the show lacked creativity. Hence, the ratings plummeted as the audience rejected the content.”
Adding to the disappointment, it appears that viewers may have already watched the final episode, as only six episodes of the show were filmed. While the channel has decided to end the show, the producers are reportedly still hoping for one last chance to revive it.

For those unfamiliar, Aapka Apna Zakir premiered on August 10, marking Zakir Khan’s television debut. The show generated significant buzz, especially as many fans speculated that it would serve as a replacement for The Kapil Sharma Show. This led to comparisons between the two, but Aapka Apna Zakir struggled to capture the same level of audience engagement.
In addition to Zakir Khan as the host, the show featured a panel of popular personalities, including Shweta Tiwari, Rithvik Dhanjani, Paresh Ganatra, and Gopal Datt. It also welcomed a string of Bollywood celebrities who appeared to promote their movies. Stars like John Abraham, Karisma Kapoor, Vikrant Massey, Taapsee Pannu, Sunny Kaushal, Karan Johar, Shraddha Kapoor, and Rajkummar Rao were among those featured on the show.
Despite the star-studded lineup, the show couldn’t maintain viewer interest, leading to its abrupt cancellation less than a month after its debut. Fans of Zakir Khan were hopeful for his successful transition to television, but unfortunately, Aapka Apna Zakir didn’t live up to its initial promise.
With the show’s early exit, it remains to be seen if Zakir Khan will return to the small screen in a different format or show, but his fans will surely be eager for his next move.

It is great show no cheap jokes like previous show on Sony.
It seems audience is not ready for a comedy show with decency .
I loved it and will miss it
Zakir seemed to be enacting a scripted format…the originality was missing….also the 4 co anchors seemed to be a forced attempt as none of them contributed anything significant to the show..it was disappointing display of forced comedy
